RAKITIC READY FOR SEVILLA RETURN

As the January transfer window continues to approach, Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has continued to disturb the decision makers at Camp Nou about his future at the club.

The Croatian has been forced to settle for a place on the bench and as a result has not failed from openly speaking about his desire to leave.

Rakitic says his heart is still at Barca but there is nothing he can do but leave if the coach feels like he has nothing to offer the team. As a result, he is open to moving to rival teams and if possible, Sevilla.

Given that Ever Banega and the rest of the crew are having a good time at Sevilla, moving back to the Sanchez Pizzuan may not make much of a difference for the former Sevilla man as he has to start from ground zero and prove that he is heads and shoulders above every other midfielder at the club.

The Sevilla fans will however have a hard time accepting Rakitic back into their fold. The Croatian left them the same he leaves every opposition attacker on the field of play: cold and without remorse.

Having him back will be discomforting for sure but the moment Ivan proves and reminds them of his quality, loving him as they used to do a while back won’t be so much of a hassle.

Sevilla started the season as the most serious challenger for the La Liga title but inability to maintain consistent dominant displays every week has put that dream in jeopardy.

For someone who has looked, for the whole season, like an assassin waiting for his time to pounce and inflict his revenge, no better story can be told than watching Rakitic help Sevilla lift the Spanish Championship by besting Barcelona.
